MORGAN CITY, LA - New Industries, Inc. recently received a Safety Award of Achievement by the Steel Tank Institute and the Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA). This award is given to companies who achieve a 10% or more reduction in the rate of the OSHA Total Recordable Incidents compared to their average rate for the previous three years.

“We are pleased to be receiving this safety award, especially since safety is the most important aspect of our job,” said Cody Rink, HSE Manager. “This award is presented annually which gives New Industries a goal to strive for each year. “

STI/ SPFA represents fabricators of steel construction products and their suppliers. Since merging in February 2004, STI/SPFA has continuously serviced the leading suppliers and fabricators in the chemical, water, petrochemical and specialty fabrication fields.

“New Industries has received this award for the past two years,” stated James Stewart, company Vice President. “I believe this shows that New Industries’ employees are dedicated to continuing to improve our safety program, but we will not be satisfied until we are 100% accident free. However, we are on the right track since New Industries is about to reach a mile stone in the maturity of the safety program by reaching almost 1 million man-hours without a lost time accident.”

Established in 1986, New Industries, Inc. has continuously grown, now employing 162 people. The fabrication yard is located in Morgan City, Louisiana along the Intracoastal Waterway just north of the Bayou Boeuf Lock. New Industries, Inc. specializes in pressure vessels, suction piles, jumpers, PLETs, PLEMS, manifolds, and ROV buildings.
